Line Marking Machine Project
Crossfield Excalibur Limited was approached by a national linemarking company to assist with the design of a rotationally moulded cover to compliment their latest machine
The design brief included the following:-
The unit had to be designed in suit the rotational moulding process.
Functionality:-
The unit had to be designed to incorporate the existing chassis and working components of the machinery, it must also have a quick release mechanism to facilitate easy access for quick loading of the paint.
The cover had to be waterproof to protect the internal wiring and components.
The cover must not impede the vision of the spray head whilst in use.
The cover must be robust, to withstand the working conditions
Aesthetics:-
Simple clean, smooth lines formed around the existing parameters of the chassis
Other Considerations:- 
Recyclable
Ability to change colours with batches
Crossfield Excalibur Limited provided the following:-
1) initial design concepts
2) full 3D modeling to prove functionality
3) 2D drawings prior to tool manufacturing
4) Radan Sheet metal development software to produce tooling blanks
5) A production ready 2mm CR4 mild Steel tool.
